Yuliya Nesterenko is piano teacher based in Greater Montreal area. She holds a Royal Conservatory of Music teaching certification in beginners, intermediate and advanced piano levels.

Yuliya is a graduate of McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where she completed both, her bachelor and masters degrees in solo piano performance. At McGill she had the opportunity to study with renowned Soviet pianist Marina Mdivani, a student of Emil Gilels.

Yuliya was born in the Ukraine in a family of musicians and teachers. She began her piano studies at the age of 6 in a regional music school in Donetsk and at the age of 15 she continued to pursue her passion for music and teaching and entered the Donetsk State Music College. Four years later she was accepted for studies in Donetsk State Music Academy which were interrupted by her family’s move to Montreal.

In the year 2000 Yuliya started her teaching career in the Ukraine, and continued teaching in Montreal while pursuing her studies. After completing her studies with Prof. Marina Mdivani at McGill University, Yuliya fully dedicated herself to teaching both piano performance as well as music in general.
